Expressions of Interest: Health Advisory Groups

Applications for the Health Advisory Group have been assessed and successful applicants were announced in a Community Bulletin from the Administrator on 26 October 2017.

Senator the Hon Fiona Nash, Minister for Local Government and Territories, has announced the establishment of a Health Advisory Group for each of Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands.

The Advisory Groups will provide advice to the Indian Ocean Territories Health Service and the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development on matters relating to the delivery of local health services.

The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development is seeking Expressions of Interest from residents who are willing to volunteer their time and are committed to ensuring the continued delivery of high quality health services.

Each Advisory Group will consist of six community members and will be chaired by Mr Barry Haase, Administrator of Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. The Advisory Groups will meet quarterly.
