Community Infrastructure Grants Program

The Australian Government is delivering on its commitment to fund projects that were identified by local communities across Regional Australia. The proposed projects will provide important community and social infrastructure identified by local communities as priority investments for their regions. The projects to be funded include the construction and upgrade of local sport, recreation and community infrastructure, significantly enhancing the liveability of Australia's regions.

The provision of funding is conditional on proponents entering into contractual arrangements with the Commonwealth (represented by the Department of Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport). The Community Infrastructure Grants program will fund projects consistent with all relevant requirements of the Financial Management and Accountability (FMA) Regulations 1997, the Commonwealth Grant Guidelines 2009, the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO)Better Practice guide, and the recommendations from the ANAO Audit of the Better Regions program.
